Hey you all, after 24 hours travelling we arrived in Houston to lovely warm sunshine! Managed to get some zzz's on the flights - but needed more!   Got an early night, but neither of us slept well, as you do, or don't in our case.  Finally got into that lovely deep sleep before dawn, but... just before 5am the freakin' fire alarm started up with it's very insistant blaring.  I must say middle of the night evacuations are becoming too much of a habit on my excursions.  At least it was warm out and an hour later after big yellow 'Lil Flick' extinguished the fire in a second floor room with his three big brothers looking on, we went back to bed. Great sleep!

Missed brekkie due to much needed sleep-in and then off to collect the rental car - a Chevy Malibu. Not much to chose from as there is a Huge Oil & Gas Conference here this week and everything booked out.  Nice car though, as long I get in the correct side.  I had a practice drive around the car park, bloody gear shift is on the wrong side and so is the rear vision mirror and the seat belt : )

Got the phones sorted next and then off to see the coach.  She was in surprisingly good order, just a few midge type dead insects inside which were easily vacuumed up and rather dirty on the outside. Nothing a hose and a car wash brush with a very long handle won't fix.

After a quick visit to Walmart, mostly for RV stuff but I did need some hair straighteners, it was 7pm so looked for somewhere to eat.  Guess where we had brunch?  Of course Macca's - so it was my turn to choose where we had dinner. Found a BBQ place (complete with stuffed coyotes and a stag's head for ambience) and I have to say my beef short ribs were awesome!.  Not sure about the collard greens, but had to try them.  Huge meal and only got through half, Kim did better with his beef, mashed potato and gravy and coleslaw.  That was the first day of our adventure in the yellow rose State of Texas.  Catch you all later!
