Saturday 25 July – Baraboo Rally

This morning we attended the very interesting Refrigeration Seminar and bought the control unit which monitors the fridge and turns it off if it overheats, which can happen if the fridge is operating when the coach is on an angle. There have been some coach fires caused exactly by this and it apparently happens more commonly than one would like.  One lucky Safari member won the unit in the lucky draw and we watched it being installed so we can do our own when we get back to the coach.  Maybe there is an opportunity for these back home, both RV'ing and boating.

Then we are off in the shuttle (we have now ridden in a yellow American school bus) to the annual Big Top Circus Parade in the square.  It was hot (90F) and sunny, so found some shade with a cross breeze to watch the parade pass by.  The first few floats were dedicated to war veterans, I still can’t get over how strongly they honour the people who fought - everyone clapped as their processions went by.  The Ringling Circus horse drawn carriages were pretty cool, as were the elephants, camels and the sleepy white tiger.   Kim caught a 'Badger Strong' T-shirt thrown into the crowd – Badger Strong is a recently launched line of apparel and merchandise that features the University of Wisconsin’s Bucky Badger logo.  He's pretty cute - so is the badger!

We found a local sports bar which has live music not too far away so that is our pick for dinner.
