23 May Orlando to Lake Bryant, Ocola
Brad and Annie’s last day with us so we managed to fit in brunch
at IHOP and a power shop before dropping them off at a hotel near the airport
to get ready for winging their way back home.
We then headed north for a couple of hours to come to the
Lake Bryant Campground. We were the only
overnighters there, their off season and just prior to major renovations. Although there were some cabins which were
inhabited.
We now have much more
opportunity to get off the Interstates and had a lovely drive through some
country road. There were signs warning
of panthers crossing but even with eyes peeled didn’t see any, or bears, or foxes,
or owls, which we are told are usually around at Lake Bryant. Came across a tortoise on the other side of
the two lane road but the ute in front of us did a U’y to go back and rescue
it, warms the heart! 111 miles today.
