Overnight we heard ‘things’ dropping on the roof of the RV, think the squirrels are doing it - pesky little varmints.  Cute though!  Saw one trying to get into our neighbour's chilly bin yesterday.  Just before this photo he was standing upright on the ground trying to open the lid with his cut little hands.

There are quite a few golf carts here too and some do the late afternoon tour around the park.  The launch ramp is over the other side of the river so a lot of vehicles towing boats come and go, many of them load the kids on the tray of the truck or in the boat for the short trip.  OSH would have a fit!

It’s very hot here, up to 95 F which is 35 C in real terms.  The first night we slept with no AC, last night we had it on - it’s a toss up between being cool and deafened or, being too hot, but quiet and peaceful.

Only half of this Park is in use, we took our bikes along the closed off area and there are some lovely spots beside the river.  There are unused bathroom, campsites with power, water and concrete picnic tables but the grass is long and it is very overgrown.  There’s nobody around though so it’s  very peaceful and a good spot to take your book and read under the shade of the trees overlooking the river.  We have had to replenish the books on our kindles, started to run out of reading material - what a problem to have  : )

The head of Grenada Lake is a dam.  The water seems quite clear and blue gushing from the dam but 200 metres down it has turned a murky brown.  We see numerous fish jumping, it’s obviously well stocked and therefore popular with anglers.  The info says there is swimming here but the water is quite fast moving and we haven’t seen anybody in the water, except for some kids riding their bikes down the launch ramp into the water.  Great idea - might do that ourselves tomorrow!

The Tennessee/Mississippi locals talk with a very ‘country’ accent, I heard the lady next door tell the little girl to ‘get over yonder’ heh heh!  But everyday someone comments on our accent too and quite a lot pick it as from ‘down under’.

Sunday morning the family next door abandoned the holiday weekend and pulled out - way too hot!  So we have nobody either side of us, nice and peaceful!  In the evening we banked up the campfire, threw some baked potatoes in the embers and cooked our dinner over it.
